Jesa Marshall

www.jesamarshall.co.uk

After completing a Foundation Diploma at Bournemouth & Poole College of Art & Design Jesa gained an Honors Degree in History of Art and Design at Winchester College of Art. Although she loved the world of art history Jesa was frustrated by the lack of hands on creativity and began to make jewellery. She went on to study Precious Jewellery at Portsmouth University and finally at the Sir John Cass dept. at London Guildhall University.

Jesa’s love for dark fairytales and all things weird and wonderful is manifested in her jewellery collections which incorporate tiny sculptures of birds, animals, plants and objects into wearable stories. Jesa has been working as a professional jewellery designer for over 15 years and has been teaching and running Flux ‘n’ Flame alongside her husband Al since 2003.

Jesa’s award winning work can be seen in shops, galleries and at shows throughout the UK and abroad as well as on her website.

Jesa works to commission as well as producing work for galleries & exhibitions.

She is also a member of the British Jewellers Association (BJA) and the Association of contemporary Jewellery ( ACJ ).

A dusty old curiosity shop.

Evermore is a dark place in which to indulge in beauty and be amazed at the strange and fascinating objects that find their way there.

Al Marshall

Ruby and Al

Al has over 20 years experience of working with all types of metal from steel and aluminium to silver & gold. A fascination for sculptural forms from cars, motorcycles and hotrods to architecture and sculpture has led him to adapt his skills to design and create jewellery inspired by these themes, often strong and simplistic in form with accents of texture or colour.

Being highly skilled in metal forming / forging techniques Al loves the challenge of creating three dimensional forms. He always focuses on the aesthetics of each individual piece making sure it works in combination with it’s usability and comfort.

Al has been working as a professional jewellery designer for over 12 years and has been teaching and running Flux ‘n’ Flame alongside his wife Jesa since 2003.

Al also relishes his position as creative director within Flux ‘n’ Flame in addition to Al and Jesa’s most recent joint venture ‘Evermore’, a collaboration of twisted imaginations through which new collections of jewellery and other oddities are created.

The ‘Evermore’ shop can be found alongside Flux ‘n’ Flame in Dorset as well as online where you can buy jewellery from Jesa and Al as well as other fabulous creations from furniture to photographs….

In 2010 Al launched his own Jewellery Brand called 'Ruby & Al' which is a wonderfully evocative range of designs with its heart lying in the 50’s passion for custom cars and hot rod racing!

To see some of the things he does when he's not making jewellery have a look at Al's other work.

Al works to commission as well as producing work for galleries shops & exhibitions. He is also a member of the Association of contemporary Jewellery ( ACJ ).
